Behind Every Strand: Things We Consider When Selecting Our Hair
Not all human hair wigs are created equal. At Wig Coven, we use only high-quality human hair to ensure durability, natural shine, and easy maintenance.
What Makes Our Hair Stand Out
1. Healthier Hair from the Start
Our hair is carefully selected to maintain its natural strength with color processing in mind. It hasn't been chemically processed before coloring, preserving its original texture—even through intense lightening. Many lower-quality wigs use over-processed hair that becomes weak and prone to damage.
2. Cuticle Integrity Matters
We keep cuticles intact and aligned to prevent tangling, dryness, and dullness. This ensures the hair stays smooth and soft throughout its lifetime.
3. The Difference in Longevity
While low-quality hair may look fine initially, it quickly becomes dry and brittle after a few washes. Our hair retains its healthy shine and movement without relying on heavy product coatings.
4. Low Maintenance, High Performance
Our hair air-dries straight and bouncy without needing intense styling or heat. It holds styles well and stays soft with minimal effort.

Hairpiece Care Guide
Daily Care:
- Store properly: Place your wig on a wig stand, dust bag, or mannequin head when not in use.
- Detangle regularly: Use a paddle brush or a wide-tooth comb to brush your hair before and after wearing your hairpiece.
- Heat styling: While heat styling is safe, regular conditioning is recommended if you style your hair often. When stored properly, your styling will hold for days.
Washing:
- Wash every 10–15 wears, or sooner depending on the climate and if there is product buildup.
- Fill a sink or basin with cool or lukewarm water, and soak your hair wet.
- Apply gentle shampoo. Avoid deep cleansing, volumizer, and oil control shampoo as they are designed for oily scalps. Unlike bio hair, hairpieces do not get natural oil and will dry out from over-cleansing.
- Use a stroking motion with your fingers to remove sweat, product, and dust. Avoid scrubbing.
- Rinse with clean water. Repeat if necessary.
- Apply conditioner or treatment products of your choice, and rinse again.
- Blot with a towel. Air-dry on a wig stand, or blow-dry.
- Apply hair oil or cream to ends if necessary.
Color Touch-up:
- Human hair wigs can be dyed, but it’s best done by a professional. Strand testing is always recommended.
- Significantly lightening without the proper setup will compromise hair quality and health.
- Contact us if your wig needs structural repairs or color service.
General Tips:
- It’s highly recommended to avoid sleeping in your wig. If you must sleep in your hair, braid the hair and wear a bonnet.
- When traveling, use a dustbag to store your hair.
- Pastel shades are often done with semi or demi hair dye. Units colored in pastel shades are more prone to fading than neutral shades; they are best washed with care.
